[STARCAST] “Twinkling heart”…Sojin and Yura’s volunteer work diary at Cambodia
Wanted to protect.
Children’s dream,
and children’s heart
Therefore they visited there.
With the hope them to be
everyday, Girl’s Day.
Here are good deed angels. It’s members of group ‘Girl’s Day’, Sojin and Yura. They flew to Cambodia for volunteer work on January 25.
‘Girl’s Day’ is famous for their consistent good deeds. As an honorary ambassador of international relief and development organization, NGO Plan Korea, it’s their 3rd overseas volunteer work.
They visited Chiang Rai, Thailand in 2013. They comforted girls living in the pain of early marriage.
Again, they visited a small village in Thailand in 2014. They gave hope and dream to the girls who are not registered for birth.
Girl’s Day is making efforts for girls’ human right expansion. For children to grant their divine rights.
☞ From now on, ‘STARCAST’ have put ‘Girl’s Day’ Sojin and Yura’s volunteer work as social media. They visited Run Ta Ek School in Cambodia this time.
Wait a moment here! Where’s Hyeri and Minah? Unfortunately, they could not join this volunteer work this time due to individual schedule. However they will share the love together!!!
Hello, this is ‘Girl’s Day’ leader Sojin. The first thing I did at Cambodia is being a daily teacher for Run Ta-Ek girls. Prepared music and art lessons for the first class.
I played melodion and Yura played xylophone and sang a song together. Nevertheless, the music is a common language for the world. Therefore we became closer with the children quickly.

#Education, #at their viewpoint
Now, it is time for me, Yura to take an action. I became an art teacher. We had time to draw each one’s dream on the eco-bag.
It was time for me to feel girls’ unspoiled innocence. Can’t forget their bright eyes while talking about their dreams such as nurse, teacher, etc.
#SojinXYura, #collaboration, #class
The art class was bit more special. I wanted to tell them their dreams can come true and not just being a dream only through this class.
I drew ‘wings’ on the wall to encourage children. While praying the girls’ dreams can fly away with the wings.
I, Sojin enjoyed bubbles with the children while Yura draws mural. They looked so cute as they looked at bubbles amazingly. They made me smile.
#Excited Sojin, #the world of, #children
I came back after playing with children and bubbles. Shall we check Yura’s wall painting at this point? No wonder she’s one of the ‘top 3 idol artists’.
It’s Yura again. I only have to finish up the work. My hands are getting quicker as I think of happy children while looking at this. Sojin, please help me!
Ta-da! I finally completed the wall painting. The children’s reaction is? They replied with bright faces. All tiredness blew away with bright smiles. I’m really proud.
#Captured, #with mobile phone as well
Moved on to next place with good memories. This is a garbage dump in Cambodia. This is not a place to suit children. We met 14 years old girl ‘Soben’ with brave heart.
Soben works at garbage dump. She works all day for living. Actually Soben’s dream is to become an English teacher.
There are a lot of things that we figured out by looking at Soben. We had time to look back ourselves by looking at her not giving up in difficult situation. Soben, we are cheering for you! ♥
We’ve prepared a surprise gift for Soben. We gave her English dictionary and notepads for her to keep up study while working.
Bicycle in addition to help her going to school. We enjoyed driving(?) for a while. Is it because we rode bicycle after a long time? We were excited more.
#Come on, #it’s your first time #riding a bicycle, right?
The volunteer work has been finished followed by a meeting with Soben. It was a short period but it has been so special time for children and us.
“The children without dream means no future. I hope the children can thing about their own dreams and learn what to do to achieve it.” (Sojin)
“There are a lot of children who gave up their dreams in the world. Please help the children suffer from sexual discrimination, education deprivation and failed to register birth, etc. ” (Yura)
☞ Here are the photos of Girl’s Day and children’s happy time for the last. Heal yourself by looking at the children’s smile!
