Hyeri Leaves Amazing Saturday to Focus on Acting

Girl’s Day Hyeri left tvN’s variety show “Amazing Saturday” in late 2020 to focus on her acting career. She had been a regular cast member since 2018, and the show’s records list her run as 2018–2020.

The show is also known as DoReMi Market, a weekly television program airing on tvN. For more than two years Hyeri was a regular on the show, before her departure closed out that stretch in late 2020.

Her exit turned Hyeri back toward dramas. She has since starred in the IQIYI series “My Roommate Is a Gumiho” (2021), an adaptation of a webtoon. Yonhap and Chosun Ilbo both reported her and Jang Ki-yong as the drama’s confirmed leads, and Chosun Ilbo’s headline pointed to a “200% sync rate” between the cast and the original webtoon.

“My Roommate Is a Gumiho” aired in 2021, Hyeri’s first drama after she left “Amazing Saturday” to concentrate on acting.
