Hyeri Cast in KBS2 Historical Drama 'Moonshine' with Yoo Seung-ho

Girl’s Day’s Hyeri has been cast in KBS2’s historical drama “Moonshine,” her first period drama. She stars as Kang Ro-seo opposite actor Yoo Seung-ho.

The casting builds on a busy 2021 for Hyeri, who led tvN’s “My Roommate Is a Gumiho” earlier in the year. That series drew more than 100 million views on its streaming platform and became its most-watched original drama of the year. She had stepped away from variety show “Amazing Saturday” in 2020 to focus on acting, a shift “Moonshine” continues.

Kang Mi Na also joins the “Moonshine” cast. A Kdrama Stars preview described Hyeri and Kang Mi Na exchanging icy gazes in the new drama.

In a Soompi interview tied to the series, Hyeri talked through starring in her first historical drama and shared her thoughts on working with co-star Yoo Seung-ho, among other topics. “Moonshine” aired on KBS2 across 2021–2022.
