Hyeri Stars in Fantasy-Romance Drama 'My Roommate Is a Gumiho'

Hyeri stars as Lee Dam in tvN’s fantasy-romance drama “My Roommate Is a Gumiho,” produced by iQIYI as a 2021 original drama series. She leads the show opposite actor Jang Ki-yong.

It’s her return to a drama lead, a tier she first reached on “Reply 1988” (2015), then the highest-rated Korean cable drama. Back-to-back success in variety and on the small screen had put her third on the Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list in 2016, and she came to this role after leaving tvN’s “Amazing Saturday” in 2020 to focus on her acting career.

Described as both a fantasy romance and a fantasy romcom, the series became a commercial success, amassing more than 100 million views on the online video platform and finishing as iQIYI’s most-watched original drama series of the year.

Later in 2021, she followed “My Roommate Is a Gumiho” with KBS2’s historical drama “Moonshine,” opposite Yoo Seung-ho.
