Girl’s Day Sojin has been cast in the tvN fantasy drama Alchemy of Souls as Joo Wol. News of the casting broke on June 23, 2021.

Alchemy of Souls is written by the Hong Sisters, the screenwriting duo behind the series. A SPOTV News exclusive, bylined to reporter Jang Jin-ri and carried via Naver, reported that Sojin had joined hands with the Hong Sisters for the drama. Its Korean headline pitched the role as the latest push in a busy run of acting jobs, arriving on the heels of her turn in MBC’s The Spies Who Loved Me (2020), a performance that earned her a Best New Actress nomination at the 2020 MBC Drama Awards.

As Joo Wol, Sojin enters the fantasy genre alongside the Hong Sisters, and Daisies will be tuned in to see her take on the part. Alchemy of Souls is set to air on tvN in 2022.
