Lee Dong-ha on Sojin's support: 'Marriage was the right choice'

Lee Dong-ha spent a good part of his Kim Bujang wrap interview talking about his wife.

“She said from the first broadcast that she found it so fun and wanted to support me,” he told Star News. “I’m truly grateful she posted cheering messages on SNS.” Sojin had been doing exactly that through the run — posting about the show while he was in it.

He put the rest more plainly. “We look after each other carefully. My wife always checks on me, saying ‘you’re doing well, hang in there.’ Marriage was the right choice, and thanks to her, every day brings happiness.” And on what it does for the work: “Because of her, I can persevere and work harder. She’s become my driving force, making me think ‘I need to work harder for this person.’”

The drama that prompted all this was SBS’s Kim Bujang, a revenge story about a father turning dangerous to get his daughter back. Lee Dong-ha played 남실장, secretary to the lead, and the series ended on July 25.

He is not resting on it. He told the same interview that he intends to keep working on stage for the rest of his life, and The Seagull opens on August 9.
