[GUIDE] Girl’s Day – Starcall App: Android/iPhone

Make sure to check out and download the Starcall app. The app itself is free, to be able to receive video calls there is a fee but it is free to send Girl’s Day fan mail.

After downloading the Starcall app you will be able to scroll through the various artists. Once you find Girl’s Day, click on the Star next to their name so that you can add them as a favorite. Only after adding them to your favorites list will you be able to receive video calls from them.

Note: Once you download the app and favorite Girl’s Day from that day forward you will be able to receive their video calls. ~~However, any video calls sent prior to this you will not be able to access. This is unfortunate but it is how Starcall operates.~~ If you are not able to access Starcall when Girl’s Day sends a video call or the app crashes, you don’t have to worry as long as they are in your favorites you can access it at a later time.

UPDATE:
On September 9th, 2013 Starcall started a Free Call Event where all calls are free to users (the app now has advertisements). We are not sure how long this event will last but it’s a good time to download the app. All Girl’s Day videos are now available, so if you missed any calls previously you can complete your callbox collection.

The Callbox is where you can view your past purchases of video calls from Girl’s Day. If you missed the call you can access it from this section and you can also send video fan mail to Girl’s Day. ~~The ‘Family Applications’ and ‘Settings’ are not applicable at this time.~~

Event, Notice & Setting
Starcall updated its layout in September 2013.

The first notice may not apply to every country because some users are being charged for every 5 calls while others are being charged per call.

Fan Section

In Girl’s Day’s fan section you can see their total Starcall fan count. You can access the Fan Board and Star Feed. The Youtube Video and Star News section are empty at this time.

Fan Board: You can leave a message for Girl’s Day by allowing access to your twitter or facebook.
Star Feed: Check Girl’s Day’s latest tweets.
Youtube Video: “There are no posts on this board.”
Star News: “There are no posts on this board.”

Problems you may encounter;

The main issue is that Starcall had trouble saving favorites. When we would close the app and restart it, the artist that was favorited would be gone. This is a huge problem because you can only receive a video call if the artist is in your favorites. After trying a few times without success, turning off the phone seemed to help. We restarted the Starcall app and after favoriting Girl’s Day once more, it finally saved it. Since then we have not experienced this problem.
Starcall has trouble loading at times and difficulty connecting to the internet. It will either load slowly or will not load at all and this message will appear. After a moment later, restart the app and you should be able to access it.
Starcall will crash at times while using one of its features and this message will appear. This may happen while watching a video call or accessing the different sections.
A new issue was encountered when a recent video call would not play once it was answered. The file was corrupted and it was later deleted by Starcall.
Since Starcall updated its layout in September 2013, some users have experienced this “null” issue. Starcall will randomly send a video call from “null” but it never plays. For the most recent “null” call I received I decided to check my callbox and there was a new Girl’s Day video. I was able to play the video and then when I restarted the app, a Girl’s Day call actually came in and it was the video that already had appeared in my callbox.

This Starcall has been discontinued and the video calls have been removed from the app.

Note: As of 130508 the K-Collection Starcalls can be received for free, earlier versions of this app will charge a fee so make sure to update to the latest version. This may vary by country.

Problems you may encounter;

Starcall has trouble loading at times and difficulty connecting to the server. After clicking ‘Okay’, you should restart the app and you should be able to access it.
